Do More Faster: 3 Great Tools

These days in Commercial Interiors, it's all about getting more done with less. Below are 3 great tools that will help you do more faster.

1. Travel Made Easy Tripit

What’s more painful than business traveling these days? Answer: NOTHING!!! Tripit turns all your flight, hotel and rental car confirmation emails into simple, mobile travel itineraries just by hitting forward. Oh, it’s free!  Nice!

2. Simplify your email: Sanebox

Sanebox fixes email overload. It moves unimportant email out of your Inbox into the SaneLater folder to stop unwanted interruptions... like a secretary that doesn't allow just anyone to bother you in your office. How cool is that!

3.  Communicate in real time with your whole team: Yammer

Yammer brings the power of social networking to your company. Yammer is as easy to use as Facebook and Twitter, but is designed for company collaboration, file sharing, knowledge exchange and team efficiency.

Why you Should Focus your Business Development Efforts on the Pet Services Industry!

If you’re looking for an industry to focus your business development efforts on, just look down. If there’s a dog, cat, lizard, or guinea pig wandering your floor, you’ve got something in common with 62 percent of Americans.

The American Pet Products Association reports pet ownership has continued to grow right through the downturn. We spend big on our pets, too, recession or not. Annual pet-related expenditures soared from $43.2 billion in 2008 to nearly $53 billion this year, the association reports.

Apparently, when the chips are down, having a cat to cuddle goes a long way.

There are now more than 35 major chains in the pet services business,  from doggy day cares, groomers, and dog-walking providers to pet stores, dog trainers, and boarding services. Unlike the traditional hotel chains — a sector that’s under pressure — pet hotels are still growing. Dog-spa chain Dogtopia has more than 25 locations, mostly in Maryland and Virginia, while the luxury-focused D Pet Hotels has three hotels in Hollywood, Scottsdale, and Manhattan. Newcomer K-9 Resorts has hotels under construction that should give it seven locations by the end of next year.

There is massive new business opportunity in our industry in one of the rare niches where consumers don’t show any sign of cutting back.

Happy developing!  John

Rock Your Next Corporate Interiors Presentation With Pinterest!

Us Corporate Interiors professionals are always pushing to keep our presentations fresh, modern and interesting.

Pinterest is one of my favorite new resources for cool graphics. Pinterest is a pinboard-style social photo sharing website that allows its members to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies and more. Users can find photos and other media for use in presentation development.

In January 2012 comscore reported Pinterest  had 11.7 million unique users, making it the fastest site in history to break through the 10 million unique visitor mark.

I did a keyword search in Pinterest for a few of the common terms we use to find graphics for Corporate Interiors presentations and here is what I came up with.

Pinterest keyword: office

 Pretty Cool image!

Pinterest keyword: businessman

 Kind of Slick

Pinterest keyword: business

 There you have it!

Pinterest can also be used to post your own photos and videos so you can share your works of art with the world.
